A firm favourite with all the family, this classic Schwartz Sausage Casserole with sausages, onions and mushrooms is delicious served with mashed potatoes.
450 gram (1 pound) sausages
1 onion, sliced
300 millilitre (½ pint) water
175 gram (6 ounce) mushrooms, sliced
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C, 350°F, Gas Mark 4.
Fry sausages for 4-5 minutes, until browned. Drain excess liquid. Add onion and cook for a further 3-4 minutes, until softened. Transfer to a casserole dish and add mushrooms.
Mix sachet contents with water and add to casserole dish. Cover and cook for 1 hour.
Serve with mashed potatoes and green cabbage.
